National Center for Effective Mental Halth Consultation
 

The Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Group, housed within the Public Policy Institute at Georgetown University, has provided leadership and effective management in the provision of health information delivered through technology for both state and national health initiatives.

The MCH Group has designed and maintained numerous award-winning electronic resource centers and distance learning curricula that provide essential information to the health care community. Combined, the websites for these projects total over 10,000 pages of content, are accessed by approximately 1.5 million users per year, and provide access to 500,000 full-text health related materials.

Health Information through Technology

Comprised of a seasoned team of health education specialists and technology professionals, the MCH Group develops distance learning curricula, health promotion materials, IT/new media applications, and online resource centers that are rooted in a strong health evidence base and proven communication strategies.

Field Experience

Staff have a distinguished record of accomplishment, having earned over 20 awards for outstanding contributions to the heatlh-promotion and disease-prevention field, including APEX Awards for Excellence, a World Wide Web Health Award, and a Yahoo! Best Site Award.

As part of Georgetown University's Public Policy Institute, the MCH Group receives administrative support and services through the university. GU's Office of Sponsored Programs inteprets and implements government regulations and negotiates awards contractually on behalf of the university. The MCH Group also works collaboratively with GU's Medical School, the School of Nursing and Health Studies, and the Law School.
